The Connections Program is a system program designed to meet the needs of students in Grades 1-6 with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Students with ASD may have difficulty with communication, social relationships, emotion regulation, or learning. Although some students with ASD achieve at grade level, many have uneven or delayed achievement. Flexible and responsive instruction is guided by an Instructional Support Plan (ISP), and builds on individual strengths, interests, and needs. The Connections program follows the Alberta Education Program of Studies, with adaptations and modifications as necessary. Students are supported through a positive structured classroom environment with predictable routines.
