Attendance (please specify if absence is due to illness)
Is your child sick? Are you going on vacation? Phone 780-464-3330 or click below to report your child's absence from school.
The School Council and Parent Association are two separate groups that exist in the school in order to be informed and to help create the magic that elementary school is known for.
As a parent/guardian you are automatically a member of the School Council and Parents' Association. Please feel free to join us at any upcoming meetings (that will be listed below and shared via School communication emails).
Parental involvement in our school is incredibly important and helps enrich the school experience for our students.
The School Council meetings are a great place for you to come and hear from the principal, board trustee, teachers and other parents about what is going on in the school and decisions that will impact your child's learning. Having a diverse group of parents at these meetings help ensure the school and board trustee hear different points of views to take into consideration when decision making.
At the Parent Association meetings (that follow directly after the School Council meetings) - this is where we discuss how to make the school a fun experience for all the students. This is where we can decide on the memory making activities and the fundraising activities to fund all the fun stuff! Volunteer opportunities will be shared. The goal here is to have many volunteers take on small parts so that it is manageable for parents to be involved.
Some of the activities we organize or fund are:
* Mabel’s Labels ongoing fundraiser * Cobs Bread ongoing fundraiser
* Hot Lunches * Halloween Family Dance
* Read-a-thon / Math-a-thon * Staff Appreciation Lunches
* Wee Wonderland * Holiday Hot Chocolate & Cookies
* Stawnichy Fundraiser * Spring Flowers Fundraiser
* Grade 6 Year End Lunch * Grade 5 Swimming Transportation
****are all made possible because of our parent volunteers and those who donate and participate.
If you have any questions about attending any upcoming School Council or Parent Association meetings, please reach out to our executive at wbfpa.chair@gmail.com or wbfschoolcouncil.chair@gmail.com.
